SKELETAL REMAINS FOUND IN COUVA
Skeletal remains of human being were found in a mangrove in Couva on Sunday morning.
The discovery was made at about 8:30 am by a crab catcher who was in the mangroves near Carli Bay Road, Couva.
The man observed what appeared to be a skull, as well as bones and clothing, clad in what appeared to be multi-coloured shorts and a green and black jersey.
The police were notified and a team of officers led by Sgt Ali visited the scene.
District Medical Officer Dr Indarjit Birjah viewed the remains and made certain pronouncements before ordering the body’s removal to the Forensic Science Centre in St James.
Anyone with information which may lead to the identification of the deceased is asked to contact the police, through the nearest police station, 555 or 800-TIPS (8477).
